Green screens make it much easier to replace backgrounds in digital pictures, but you would still have to remove the screen, in a professional image processor. It is not as hard as removing an entire scenery, but you can still make a few mistakes along the way. PhotoKey can remove green screens from digital pictures instantly, without any user intervention. It also provides a good number of advanced editing features, support for batch processing and you can integrate it with Photoshop.

The program's installation file is roughly 72 MB, which is quite small, compared to other advanced image processors. The setup procedure is straightforward. Besides shortcuts and Start menu items, you can also add a sample image library, if you want to test the software's capabilities right away.

Although PhotoKey comes with advanced capabilities, its interface is very easy to understand, even for novice users. Everything you need is well organized, in different tool boxes, on the right side of the window, so you don't have to navigate through complex menus, on separate windows, if you wish to make a few adjustments or apply an effect.

By default, the program displays a series of web links, for news, tutorials and other contents, but you can go directly to the editing screen, by clicking a navigation button. You can either select a canvas size and resolution or you can select one of many presets, like A4, A5, US Letter and others.

One of the program's key features can be noticed when importing images. You can load a foreground and a background separately, to form a new picture. If you load a green screen picture as the foreground, the software will remove the green screen automatically. This gives you the possibility of placing the subject on any background, in just a few seconds.

The software places numerous features at your disposal. A red eye removal tool, UV Blurring, Auto Chroma Key corrections or spill suppression are just a fraction of what you can expect to find. You can also create masks, apply and adjust filters, move, rotate and scale the background and foreground separately and much more.
